MAVANA Announces Extern Grant Program
December 2019 – MAVANA initiates their Extern Grant Program that was launched at this year’s American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Conference. This program provides money to students who have completed a minimum of two years of an AVMA accredited veterinary medicine program and have been accepted for an Externship at a MAVANA practice.
The program will offer qualified candidates who receive a MAVANA Extern Grant up to $500 to help defray costs associated with a MAVANA Externship. MAVANA’s large network of mixed animal, small animal, and equine practices located across the United States offer veterinary students a wide variety of options for gaining clinical experience. Externs work alongside our veterinarians and support staff, participating in various aspects of daily practice while enjoying the mentorship of our experienced team members. In addition to supporting student’s educational objectives, MAVANA’s Extern Grant Program provides invaluable networking opportunities and a chance to explore future career options
“We recognize the important role externships play in the veterinary educational experience and we enjoy offering mentorship in our clinical practices. MAVANA veterinarians are proud of our Extern Grant Program that helps offset costs associated with externship travel, meals and lodging.”, said Dr. Leann Kuebelbeck of Brandon Equine Medical Center, a MAVANA practice.
