Kentucky Three Day Event - Student Volunteer Labs

MAVANA is excited to hold our first veterinary student wetlab that will be hosted at Hagyard Medical Institute and sponsored by Zoetis during the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event on Friday, April 26th. There will be between 80-100 veterinary students from around the country that will be in town in conjunction with an AAEP sponsored volunteer program for the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event.

The MAVANA wetlab will begin with a luncheon at the Hagyard campus at noon on Friday, April 26th. MAVANA CEO, Dr. Scott Spaulding, will welcome the students and discuss the MAVANA model and the opportunities it provides. MAVANA shareholder, Dr. Ernie Martinez of Hagyard will talk about Hagyard’s intern/extern program and then Jodi Findley from Zoetis will provide a Zoetis welcome. Following lunch, the students will break into four groups and rotate through the following stations:

1) Large Animal Emergency Response – led by Dr. Jeremy Shaba & Kayla Scolman of Hagyard

2) Taking Excellent Radiographs – led by Dr. Cole Sandow & Dr. Shane Harley of Hagyard with assistance from Sarah Hardin & Laura Kirkley of the Hagyard Sales Radiology Department

3) Communicating to Influence – led by Ms. Jodie Findley of Zoetis

4) Internship/Externship Discussion and Panel – led by Ms. Jamie O’Flynn of Hagyard, Dr. Melissa Restifo of BEMC and Ms. Cindy Fisher of MAVANA

In addition, MAVANA shareholders, Dr. Sara Langsam of TFB, and Dr. Adrianne Fairbanks of Mountain View will be rotating through the breakout groups and interacting with the students.
